The rise of gay tourism in recent years has been reflected to a large extent in various
destinations around the world, representing one of the segments with the highest growth
of 10.3 percent per year, with about 180 million passengers, reported Almundo .
The online travel agency reported that according to the National Association
of Commerce and Tourism LGBTTTI , there are now more than 9.5 million people
who are part of this group, which have a purchasing power of 65 billion dollars
annual and of that amount, 35 percent goes to travel and tourism.
On the eve of the International Day of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual,
Transgender, Transvestite and Intersexual Pride ( LGBTTTI) this June 28,
he said in a statement that Mexico has positioned itself as one of the favorite
destinations in this segment, with greater propensity to consume high-end and
more predisposed to travel.
Almundo indicated that the gay traveler in Mexico prefers to visit the national
territory, due to the combination of advances in the recognition of rights,
tourist promotion campaigns, a greater offer of domestic flights at adaptable
prices and nationwide training in most of the hotel companies.
Among the favorite destinations with the highest demand registered are Mexico
City, Quintana Roo and Jalisco, which have grown up to 600 percent in number
of reservations, as reported by Almundo when taking into account the first

The beaches of Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and Riviera Maya stand out for
